WordCamp Switzerland 2023 is looking for speakers
The call for speakers for this year’s event closed on 10th February.
WordCamp Switzerland is a regional WordCamp where we would like to continue to witness the diversity of our WordPress community through all kinds of speakers, regardless of their attributes: gender, colour, size, technical, non-technical, sales, big tech company, freelancer, etc.
Several languages are spoken in Switzerland, so we have decided that our call for speakers is open for talks in English, German or French. Still, English will be prominent because most people can understand English if they don’t speak German or French.
Which format to choose?
Since we are planning 2 simultaneous tracks, we have booked 2 rooms at the Löwenberg Center, one with a capacity of 300 people and the other with a capacity of around 120 people.
There will be different types and lengths of sessions:
- 20-minute talks (with 5 minutes of additional Q&A)
- 40-minute talks (with 5 minutes of additional Q&A)
- 80-minute workshops (no additional Q&A for this format)
Why not you?
Firstly, as a speaker, you will get a free ticket for the event, and you’ll be invited to the speakers’ dinner the evening before the event (more info to come).
What is more, you do not need to be a pro. Just keep in mind that there will be 16 sessions that we need to plan, and there are deadlines to respect. Also, your slides will have to be well-prepared to meet the expectations of both the in-person and online audience.
In any case, it’s a fun and challenging experience. The community is always welcoming new speakers and is happy to learn from them. And for those who are more familiar with talks, it will be a pleasure to see you again.
